Quay, i remember when EQ came out.. it took me about 1months and i had a lev13 monk and that was with me and aud playing. But there were high level people who had done it in 1 month.. mostly the beta people and friends who knew where to go.

Guess what? they rerolled and sat on there thumbs waiting for 2months for people to catch up cause there was nothing to do. I do remember leveling jiva to 60 in less then 5days too in EQ.

Nother game, nother grind but this one is less tedious. my hunter has been 59 for over a week now. I started a druid and im having tons of fun.. you know why? cause theres plenty of quests to do the game 3-4 times without doing the same stuff.
Valkyri Malkier.
2 INC! err.. 3. make that 4, screw this TRAIN INC!!!
I train stuff

You guys are missing my point. Since you can level so fast in WoW and blow through content...will they (Blizzard) be able to keep up with it by adding new content to keep the "ubers" happy? We all know how long it has taken them to release stuff in the past.../shrug.

Yes, you can level a toon in EQ to 60 in a matter of days now but there was no way you could do that when EQ first came out.

Yeah, my friend had 2 level 13 chars in WoW the first day.../boggle.

Sorry guys but I am skeptical that Blizzard will be able to keep up with it.

Its not really a matter of days, the people who play A LOT have just started hitting 60.

On my server there are only about 25 people levels 51-60. Out of all the servers there are 675,000 players with only 15,600 being levels 51-60.

So its like 2% of the people playing WoW are levels 51-60, break that down in who is just level 60 and it's going to be very, very small.

http://wowcensus.com/overall_stats.php

And heres my server breakdown.

http://wowcensus.com/realm_stats.php?realm=durotan

that shows the level breakdowns, class, race, faction, everything, kinda cool.

Its understandable why you want to see WoW fail, but I really doubt its going to happen. I know first hand how well Blizzard plans out their games and its assured from day one they planned out content, items, mudflation to cover many expansions and many years into the future unlike EQ that never had an expansion planned beyond just the initial game.

I find leveling to go slow my self... but thats probably because I dont care about it. My time is completely taken up following the quests and doing tradeskills.... because its really fun. Even while just doing that I'm getting great exp. I'm just shy of level 20 and having a ball just goofing off... something I sorely missed about EQ.

Also, you mention keeping the "ubers happy". I think this is a point where WoW is very different from EQ... they arent gearing the game towards ubers like EQ did. Sure they have shitloads of things planned for the uber crowd, but shitloads x2 for the non-uber players.

I log on, play for short amounts of time, have fun and can log off feeling like I accomplished soemthing. Its so casual and stress free its very very nice.

Because when EQ first came out level 50 was the cap? /grin

Then he played almost constantly through that first day. And level 13 is not level 60... it slows down over time, its not that same fast leveling you experience in the beginning of the game.

Perhaps, but if they fail it will be a sad day unless someting else comes along for people to move on to. Every EX-EQ player in wow I've talked to all agree they could never go back to EQ, the tedious 4 hour raids, the lack of fun, lack of interesting story, quests etc etc. EQ originally had it but over time, it lost the big RP picture. Once they dove into WoW and see how fun the genre should be, its amazing some of the other previous MMOGs were as successful as they were.

Where did I say I wanted WoW to fail? I hope they do well and all those playing it enjoy it...sincerely :)

Because when EQ first came out level 50 was the cap? /grin
LOL...smartass...you know what I mean.

You may not like nor agree with what I am saying but that's how I feel. I am doubtful they can keep up with the pace of the players as they blow through content and become bored with the game. For Blizzard's sake, I hope I am wrong. My RL friend, who played EQ previously is already getting bored but he is only one person.../shrug. Only time will tell for sure.

Some people are getting bored. They tend to be people who do everything solo and grind their way through the levels to get to 60 as fast as possible. If you do that, you'll get to 60 with no friends and there won't be much for you to do solo.

On the other hand, there's loads of content for lvl 60 people who like to group and do the occasional raid.

Was reading posts under tholuxe flames section. Apparently, alot of EQ2 people are getting discusted around level 25ish and quitting. Ainmer among them. I admit, after how he touted how wonderful the game was, I was surprised he'd later say it stinks.

Hopefully, I'll never have to say that about WoW (but I'm not taking bets of course).

Malin...now level 49 paladin.

My mage hit 25 last night.

I have a burning desire to see Van Cleef DEAD so if anyone has L20-30 toons who wants to help me with this please hollar (IceCrown server).

2 Nights ago we fight down, wipe to him... fight back KILL HIM then wipe to guards... fight back down... corpse rotted.

Last night I'm a Mage with 1 warlock and 3 Pallys... I end up tanking for the group (gnome mage tank pwnage) and we made it back down to VC and got him to 10 percent. He seemed a tad bugged and spawned 6 guards.

HE MUST DIE!!!

Have a 60 rogue on Mal'Ganis named Jvarak.
Have a 16 warrior on Hyjal that's in the ES offshoot guild Jinxed.

I love WoW. Wish class would give me more time to play it, hehe.
