Apparently the new case I got for my PC build doesn't play nice with my motherboard connection for the mic. My choices were to disassemble the build, ship the case back for a new one and rebuild it, or plug into the mother board (which is typically recommended anyways) After spending an hour of troubleshooting settings to get the headset to work properly I now have a functional mic/headeset.
That all being said. I also have a nice sound bar I like for when I don't need my mic. But with my headset plugged in the back the PC wants to use it as default, even when I set the default as my sound bar. Is there an easy toggle set up I can do for when I want to use headset and when I want to use sound bar. w/o having to keep pulling the PC out to plug the headset in?

Get a USB audio/mic adapter then use the volume control panel to select which is active.
