t-mobile home internet

Post by Zargut »

For anyone looking for some cheap wifi, look into this.

50 bucks a month flat fee.
No contract.
Easy set up/administration via an app on your phone.

The device provides wifi from cellular, you can place it anywhere it can get power. It has a battery backup that, once charged, allows you to unplug it and carry it around to see where you get the best cell signal, and provides internet during a power outage.

It seems to have good wifi range and strength. And 2 normal cat 5? ports so you could go cellular to wired if you want.

I average about 175mbps down and oddly never get more than 6mpbs up (on wifi, havent tried wired yet). But I am only getting 2/5 bars of cell signal which is considered weak. I looked at their coverage map and I'm in a somewhat dead cell spot due mostly to all the buildings and hills around me, and it still works great. you could probably get 250mbps or so if have good t-mobile cell coverage.

So what you get seems like a good deal for $50/month.
