Hello there. There are still a few old timers left!
Kazh Crusader of Greenmist - Tholuxe Paells Server - Leader of Eternal Sovereign ~ FAFO ~ Hating SOE/DBG since 2001 ~ Sweet is sleep to me and even more to be of stone, while the wrong and shame endure. To be without sight or sense is a most happy change for me, therefore do not rouse me. Hush! Speak low. --Michelangelo |
Dang, a ranger retired from January 2006. I joined ES in 2008, so sadly I do not recognize your forum name.
The last expansion you would have played is Depths of Darkhallow, with a max level of 70. Assuming you were level 70, the only ranger's still level 70 in the guild are Menidili. There's also Shakrek level 69, Taetynwych level 67, and a couple others. Not sure if those names ring a bell for you Lorai, but I do remember Menidili from the server =)
Regardless, while a lot has changed, it's still EQ, we still get together a few times a week and raid, and generally have fun and waste time. We've had several older members return recently after long hiatuses. As always, ES would be glad to help you get back up to speed =)

Hey Thip, I remember you! I believe I joined ES not long before you took your hiatus. It's nice to see an old timer say hello, ES is still alive and kicking!

If you can't recover your account via the automated "forgot password" email recovery (ie. if you don't have that old email address) you'll need to make a new free account and petition for it.thipsycho wrote:is ther a way to get my acc. back or i have to go back to 0 with no flags and crap like that, and how is free to play is realy free?
You don't have to restart from zero. If you did go a new account, for something like $30, or maybe one is included with an expansion purchase, they've done things like that before, you can get a "Heroic" Character. These are level 85 toons with gear, ready to go. I would highly recommend this. 85-110 will give you plenty of time to get used to your spell lines and new features. No flags though.
Also of note, they now have an "auto-grant AA" feature. If you have a paid subscription, you can get all AA's up to I think 10 levels prior to your existing level autogranted to you, or perhaps it's two expansions prior? I forget. Anyways, it helps catch up a ton.
And honestly, leveling is quick these days. And if you're lucky to snag a spot in a swarm level group that occasionally have spots open, you can get leveled up in a day or three to 110.
The free to play is actually free to play. There are limitations to number of characters on the account and number of AAs you can earn, and you lose the auto-grant AA feature. You also can't use top tier raid gear, only first tier raid gear from each expansion, and I think all group gear. If you're going to do anything more than group play, you'll eventually want a subscription.

Heya THip ! good to see you.
As others have stated levelling isn't what it used to be - we could likely have you caught up on levels in about a week or so once the new expansion slows down
