Which Headset to get?

Post by Rapitiss »

So my $40 pair of Sennheiser headphones had the mic die and I'm considering what to replace them with.

So far Kingston HyperX is looking good based on reviews. http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gami ... roduct_top

Several have mentioned Turtle Beach X12 . http://www.amazon.com/Force-Gaming-Head ... 597&sr=1-1

A couple mentioned the PDP Afterglow wireless line which is a bit more expensive at $100 and the glowing crap ...

So anyone else like to recommend or share their stories abut head sets?

I would recommend getting a gaming headset. They cost a bit more but are very comfortable and reliable. I bought the Dota 2 headset from Steam and I have had it almost 2 years no issue.

I got a Logitech, costing three times more than this, with a long wire 20 feet standard but I should have gotten this one. Looks more comfortable but the wire might be shorter.

this is the headset I use, dont know what pricerange you want to keep it in but these are amazing. You can also charge it and use it at the same time which is a neat feature ive never seen before which was the sole reason I stayed with a wired headset.

it will turn any audio into a virtual 7.1 surround if you want with a flip of a switch on the headset its self

I tried on a bunch of headsets at best buy and walmart over the weekend. I was hoping to spend about $50-$80.

I got a pair of turtle beach X12 ~ $80 and feature wise they aren't bad but they pinch my head and the angle of the ear cup don't work for me. Its like I needed to rotate the ear cups which then has the head band too far back to stay in place.

I tried the pair of ghost recon and they we'ren't too bad but higher than I wanted to go and still seemed tight.

The logitech G430 has the largest ear pieces and they were out of stock so guessing a lot of others like them as well.

Ordered a pair via amazon for $70 vs $80 at walmart / bestbuy ...

Rap wants to look cool playing eq! For what its worth, I have a 15 dollar Logitech from walmart that suits me fine. It fits around the back of your neck as opposed to over your head. Im ta small person anyways so it doesnt matter much. Plus my 2 cats will chew on anything they can find. So a pricier one just doesnt make sense for me.

The wife. She already makes fun of me "talking to the computer" when in TS.
