I was looking for a good gaming laptop earlier in the year. I learned a lot by googling "the best gaming laptops" and reading the reviews, learned about components, then bought the best one I could afford. I settled on a Lenovo Y510P for $999, almost half the price of the Dell gaming laptops, which had lesser graphics cards.

I just googled "the best gaming PC" and here is one site that lists a few--including a Dell Alienware compact desktop:

Processor type and speed, how many gigs of ram, how much video ram, video card speed. If long battery life is important get a haswell chip if going with intel motherboard.

What's your budget?

Do you want a laptop or a desktop ?

Do you have to go through dell?

Well, personally, I would not get a Dell. I find they have went downhill over the years.

If your existing computer is working just fine and does what you want it to do, I strongly recommend against going into debt to buy another one. If you really really want one, just take a few months to put some money back so you can buy what you want from www.ibuypower.com or www.cyberpowerpc.com .
