sound card

Post by strongbus »

hiya all. got a question we have 3 desktops in the house. One each for me zerelia and the kids. A little while back the kids computer sound card did something i can't figure out. None of the reg ports that you can plug speakers or a head set into will play sound. I can plug in the headset i use that plugs in via usb port works fine. but any of the req sound ports don't. Any wana guess what might be wrong. I am going try and uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the sound card in the morring. its a on board card.

Yes, reinstal the drivers. Do the normal stuff of patching windows, disk check, etc.

If a seperate sound card and not the one on motherboard, make sure it is seated properly. Also, check to make sure the bios us using the sound card and not onboard sound.

Make sure your speakers work. The sound ports should autosense when you plug something into them, perhaps you have a loose wire, etc..
