why does the page shoot back to top when i start to scroll down to edit stuff? very annoying.

Are you using IE or another browser? I was having that issue quite a while back with IE. That is when I switched to Chrome. No issues with Chrome.

I use Chrome almost exclusively now.
Still use IE or Firefox for some school stuff though.
