so, my finances havent allowed me to pick up D3 yet, but curious if anyone else has yet, and what are your first impressions? also is there a single-player mode in it? i still have a terrible internet connection and dont know if it would stand up to battle.net =/

i love/loved D2, played it for a long time before finding EQ, and am a bit excited about trying out D3, i wish they had released it in the winter, so it wouldnt cut into my fishing time (which it wont do, much!) but what are you gonna do?

There is no offline mode - you must have an internet connection and be connected to b.net even to play single-player. My brother got it and from what I've seen him play, it's nothing too different from D2. Click stuff until it dies, repeat until you get level 99. Decent for wasting time, but not much fun in my opinion. I have enough other games in my steam library that I haven't even touched yet to consider getting it.

EQ needs a Cangaceiro.

honestly, i havent had the slightest urge to log into eq in almost 2 years now, and i dont really see that changing. playing for as long as i did (5-6 years, then a break, then another 2 years) i just got about as burnt out as one can get. i do miss alot of the people, and thought about logging in with the free to play thing, but i dont really want to get roped back in, and schedule life around raiding like i used to (and i know it would happen if i logged in even once)

thats one of the reasons i havent picked up D3 yet, i just dont know if i want to get into another online game, if i could play it offline, at my own pace, that would be one thing, but online i get a bit competitive =p

We miss you... the tapioka isn't the same without you. And nobody fights over the pogo stick anymore.

Diablo 3 looks a bit demonic for me and i have religious people around that would throw more holy water on me if i were to play methinks.

Diabs is interesting and i have a friend who has or will be getting it. If so i'll check it out.

Waiting for Torchlight II... plus all the other Steam games I haven't started yet (Like Skyrim, RE5, ME2, Fallout:New Vegas, Amnesia, Orcs Must Die!, and Portal 2 among others...) keep me from buying.

Also hackers, hackers, hackers. Same way they steal accounts on XBOX Live/FIFA/MW3... no thanks.

Plus I'm in the Dota 2 beta so no time for D3
