i know many of you download torrents like i do. you know how you can download a movie and its around 700MB and its an .avi; but if you actually rip a DVD it does it in VOB and its 4.xGB (DVD Shrink); with out compression?
what i am looking for is a good reliable program that you can use to make high quality .avi files. right now we have a program but the size of the .avi when finished is way larger then the standard 700MB. Anyone know what the "standard" program used by most people that "upload" to torrents?

I use DVDFab. Go to www.dvdfab.com. Well worth the little bit of money it costs. Rips a full DVD in 10-15 minutes. I ride the train to and from work everyday and have ripped most of my movies. With this program you can specify the file size you want it thats what you want to control, the frame rate, resolution, whatever. Highly recommend it.
