Excitment in Neighborhood Leads to Cold Chicken

Post by Timothian »

There was some excitment in my neighborhood yesterday. Someone shot at the police, later killed himself. I did not know him.

This is very close to my house, could walk here in a couple minutes. I got off of work a bit early Friday, picked up some KFC and could not get to my house. Had to wait about 3-4 hours due to police blocking everything off.

Wow.. scary times there Aae. Was your wife one of the ones stuck inside the house, not allowed to leave?

That is scary. Something like that happened in the city near me, but the guy managed to kill two policemen who came to help him. You never know!

My wife and kids were still home when all this was happening. I was getting very annoyed with the police blocking the street as they would not say much at all about what was happening. They could not explain why it was unsafe for me to go home, yet it was ok for my wife and kids to stay in my home.

Safety was one reason, but I think they had so many police on the scene, that the street was filled up. They easily had 30-40 police cars around the area, a swat team, swat armored cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and a large number of unmarked vehicles.

The "unmarked" SWAT team vehicles were kind of funny. They all drive these huge pick up trucks, different brands and colors, but all had king sized cabs and are about the biggest ones you could buy. I heard second hand that they drive unmarked vehicles in order to be able to go to a scene and blend in. If that were the case, you would think they would at least have more variety. When this all ended, there was a steady stream of those trucks pouring out of my street.

KFC isn't that great to begin with, having it get cold before you ever eat it really suck =(

Also, police idea of safety is strange sometimes. They either need to evacuate the area, or let you go home (escorted, perhaps). Dumb stuff.

KFC hasn't truly been good since the 80's. Before the Colonel's influence faded totally after his death.
I still believe original recipe was the crunchy stuff.
Kfc used to prepare product in pressure fryers.
Well they don't anymore.... at least not at the ones here in Vegas that I've seen.
