Thought I would share some pics some of the bees and my hives. I built an observation window in the hive so that I can observe them without disturbing them too much.

Interesting, those look like some big bees. I see what appear to be animal graveyard markers in the background, those aren't bees are they... :cry:

hehe yeah the family dog grave yard. No michael vick prob did not give his dogs proper burials.

/agree with Nath.. those look like some BIG bees.. more like cockroaches with wings. :P

well shooting through the plexiglass prob distorts it some ...lol they are bunched up and some are doing chaining drawing out some comb getting read for the queen to be released and for her to start laying. After they draw the comb they will start gathering pollen, water etc to start making honey.

Its gotta be nice harvesting fresh honeycomb. Thats a cool thing to do on your spare time. Will taht hive produce enough for you and your family?

if the bees do what they supposed to do and fill up the bars yes will have enough for the family and prob some to sell. There are like 45 bars in there and say prob 10 or so for the brood (eggs and larva) and the rest for honey. Doubt they will do it this year but next year for sure. Will post some pics of some honey in the comb when they do it.
