Grapics trouble with Vista

I recently got a new laptop for school and decided to play EQ on it. The laptop has vista. I downloaded EQ on it and changed it to XP service pack 2 and put it where i can run it as an administrator. The game loads fine, but once I start running around norrath, my screen will occassionally blackout and come back on. When I window out I see the message "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Is there anything I can do for this. The blacking out is driving me insane and can get bad in some situations. Any ideas on what to do?

you put it where you can run it as administrator or you checked the "run as administrator"?

it seems wow is having this problem too, I'd guess it's a certain card, you don't have an Intel card do you?

It seemed that going to the intel site to download the latest drivers worked for some in wow

That's just a bug in your graphics driver. I'm guessing igx is the intel graphics driver for their on-board graphics. You might want to see if they have an update, (probably on the laptop vendor's web site). Early vista drivers were pretty bad from everybody (it's a new driver model, different than XP). But current ones are fine. Being a laptop, you're in a double-bind because laptop OEMs don't like the chipset vendors to provide generic drivers for them, and rarely provide updates after the initial release because laptop QA is a nightmare.
