Accessing Boards

Post by Svarien »

I'm having problems accessing guild website.. Usually in the afternoons i can't get it to load on any of my computers. Get a DNS error not sure if its associated with the move or if its something else. Mornings i can usually access it NP tho

Probably site related as occasionally I get something similar.

yah we redirected the DNS when we made the move. You might want to clear your cookies/cache. It possible that you may had an old something that's trying to take you back to the old host.

from doing some research and lots of headache i've found out the problem. it has to do with my satellite connection. there is a build in turbopage for http protocol its done outside my system and outside my modem even. basically there is an issue with the DNS server that randomly changes from 68.x.x.x and 69.x.x.x so when its set for 68.x.x.x i have no problems with ES website but the 69.x.x.x there is a problem. i think it has to do with the new hosting ip address. i've found a bypass to allow me access but it kinda sucks. i can set the turbopage to a bogus address and it bypasses it like any other protocol such as FTP HTTPS Gopher etc... takes 35-40 sec for it to timeout and i have to continually download a website on HTTP port 80 every couple minutes to keep the connection active sucky fix but hey i'm moving soon anyway so problem goes away there
