Crazy Solution for client probelms - with flatrate

before some months i had big trouble with my client (after a virus and stuff)
eq dont check even with full file check all files (compass bug missing pok books and so one)

i used a crazy way to make me a new client

this requres 4,5 GB hard disk space
a unlimited flarate (u have to download this 4,5 GB)
and many time (u can abord download play with old client and continue on other time)


and so it goes:
1.) copy the everquest.exe from ur old client (or if ur old client is broken use this )
2.) make a new folder (in this case i used neweqclient)
3.) doubleclick the neweqclient/everquest.exe
4.) click cancel botton and click advanced botton
5.) activade all 12 from package downloads (this are the expansion pack datas)
6.) click complete filecheck to save settings and start downloading all this stuff
7.) and now wait wait wait - ur patcher is downloading now the complete client from patch server (took me 16 hours with my 712 Mbit flatrate)
8.) when ever it stops close ur patcher and re double click ur neweqclient/everquest.exe till ur patcher is no more downloading anything
9.) if ur patcher ended all downloading, click in patcher - advanced - complete file check
10.) now copy the following stetting ini files from ur old client in the same folder of your new client
- everquest/UI_yourchar_bertox.ini (client settings for your char - firendlist buttons and more)
- everquest/yourchar_bertox.ini (client settings for your char - windows order and more)
- everquest/eqclient.ini (total client settings - colours char models and so one)
- everquest/userdata/AT_default_yourchar_bertox.ini (audio trigger settings)
- all wav files from everquest/audiotriggers/default and everquest/audiotriggers/shared (sound files for audio triggers)
(- if you used a bazar char everquest/BZR_name of your bazar char_bertox.ini (your bazar pricelist settings)
(- if you used a modified UI the folder everquest/uifiles/name of your UI )

now you will be able to play like with your old client just with a total fixed client and its a litle bit faster because of missing a the cashed shit

I'm curious if this would help my problem. You said you had a bug that won't run the file check. Did you ever have a problem with Client Crashing while you were logged in and playing?

I have been having this problem for almost 2 months now and I have tried almost everything. On a side note, I am wondering if a fresh EQ install would help at all. I deleted the 5 main files as suggested on EQ's tech site and I still had the same problem. I would assume a new install would do basically the same thing. Any ideas?

sounds for me like a computer problem and thats the bad thing ... it can be 10.000s of sources
on my asus board driver cd i have a tool called asus probe tools like this are for near all boards and can check a handfull of sources of probelms

like to low or instability power supply unit
problems with memory
heat of CPU and inside ur computer (its one of most problems)
other thing can be dust inside of ur system, dust can conduct electricity what is bad for microelectonic systems like computers


or u can try to reduce mainbus speed in bios settings (had this a long time on my actual 2nd system, it crashed in eq char selecting)

u can try a "benchmark tool" (google it i can u only link a german one ) and let it run a longer time (some hours) if it crash it is to 98% ur system

u have actual drivers for ur mainbod and graficcard ? tryed a bios update ?

i dont think random crashes are a eq client thing

i could conitnue this a while

I had that problem. Sometimes my computer would also restart all on its own. It was a big wad of dust inside.
