New System Specs I am considering .. ...
I'd like opinions on this stuff.. Anything missing? .. or is all this Necessary? (Some of it I know nothing about)
Asus A8N-SLI NF4 Athlon S939 64Bit Deluxe MB
1394a+4ddr+2PCle16+2PCI-Ex1 slots
1GB (2x512MB) Dual Ch DDR400
Mitsumi 1.44MB Floppy Drive
160GB 7200/8MB Serial ATA HD
GF FX6800GT 256MB PCI-Express
Lite-on 16x DVD+/-RW Dual Layer
Integrated 8 CH Audio & Gigabit LAN
(ATX Midtower Case w/400w PS)
(Logitech Access Keyboard & Optical Mouse)
Not at all sure I want any logitech mice.. I have had bad luck with them.
And I like the Dell Quiet Keyboard..
I read about the Dell Monitors... 20 inches is too big I think .. I am using a lesser one now and it is a good size for where I have it .. It measures diagonally 18 inches .. apparently.. The glass is 10.5 x 14.5 measured top to bottom and sideways .. (Width x length??)
Any suggestions would be appreciated (no, you can't have this one, but you can order your own )

Well, if you have any questions, I just finished building something similar. I went with the A8N-SLI Premium board which you might also consider over the Deluxe. It's basicaly the same board, but also supports dual-core processors. Dual-core processors are still a bit spendy, but when they come down in price, I can buy one without buying a new motherboard.
Also, if you buy that new case and power supply, make sure the power supply has a 24-pin plug. If it doesn't, make sure you buy an adapter. 24-pin is the standard for PCI-E motherboards and will be needed for any version of the A8N-SLI board.

Which 939 CPU are you planning to get?
I haven't put floppies in any of my recent systems. CDRs and DVDRs are so cheap now, there's really no point. If you have old backups on floppy that you want to use, you might consider an external USB floppy drive for occasional use.
I love the Dell 24 inch widescreen LCDs (I have two now :=) ) . You should choose something you'd like to spend a lot of time looking at.
I've been using the MS wireless mouse/keyboard combo lately but I'm one of the people who got used to their bent "ergonomic" keyboards.

I keep a floppy drive on mine, but that's only because windows still requires one if you are installing the OS to a scsi/raid device. If it weren't for that, I would do away with them.
If you're using a standard PATA or SATA drive on the normal IDE buss, then no need to worry about this.
Hopefuly, Windows Vista will allow you to install those drivers from a CD.

Vista (longhorn) has a much better implementation of F6 install.
