AMD vs Intel & Duel Core chip? +

Post by Gullun »

Is there much of a difference between the 2 chips? Note, Vid will be FX6600GT (ATI always gave me problems in past)

What AMD chip be = to P4-3.2?

Is Intel duel core good for games?

LCD monitors good for EQ?

Thanks

AMD continues to be better absolute perf and relative perf compared to Intel with dual-core. For the same $$ you'll get more with AMD.

(We now have nForce for both AMD and Intel CPUs, so I believe this is pretty unbiased. AMD systems with equal configs win 90% of benchmarks. Intel only wins a few directed memory benchmarks).

My most-current EQ system uses an Athlon64-4000+, nForce4 motherboard and 7800GTX GPU. I haven't tried dual-core with EQ.

The 6600GT is a fantastic product. For the price it's phenomenal.

I love the Dell 24" widescreen LCD. A couple of weeks back you could get them for $799. Check techbargains.com for discount codes.
