Raids - Healing

Post by Lorai »

General

Keep the MT ALIVE. All other duties come second.

Use the extended target window, /target, and /assist hotkeys to cycle for tanks and others who are not in your group but are in need of heals.

Chat Channels

Member & applicant healers must join the Cleric chat channel during raids (contact a member of your class for the channel name and password).

Clerics, Druids, and Shaman use this main healing channel to coordinate healing, various rotations, MGBs, and rezzes (shaman who are not acting as healers are exempt from joining).

There are also class specific Druid and Shaman channels. All class specific duties are assigned in these channels.

Rotations

Rotations are currently used to ensure that Cleric 3rd Spire remains on the MT continuously, and occasionally for MGB heals. All healers must have target group buffs on at all times (type "/tgb on" into the chat window to be sure; you only have to do this once as it persists through logging in/out).

The rotation order is called out in the Cleric channel, and reminders are given as the fight progresses.

Rezzing

Always drag bodies out of danger to rez and do not rez when AE mobs are present. Rez Clerics first. Once your target is rezzed, buff them. In the event of a wipe, Clerics must banner back to the raid to get rezzes started - don't wait for someone else to rez you.

A standard social is used:
/corpse
/tt Your rez is incoming!
/3 Rezzing [ %T ]
Channel 3 represents the Cleric channel and helps stop individuals from being rezzed multiple times by different clerics.

Mana

Always keep an eye on your mana during raids, since without it, you won't be able to heal. You can keep your mana pool healthy by utilizing the following tools:
  • Mod rods from Mages - click these every 5 minutes as needed and when the 3 charges run out, ask a Mage for a replacement
  • Quiet Miracle AA (QM) - targettable mana and health return, to use on yourself be sure you are targetting yourself first
  • Veturika's Perserverence AA (VP) - self-only mana and health return, will only hit you regardless of your target
  • Yaulp - increases your standing mana regen while active, wears off if you sit down
  • Focused Paragon from Beastlords/Spire from Enchanters - if you have exhausted all of the above methods of returning mana, ask a Beastlord nicely for FP or an Enchanter for Spire
Pay attention in the healer channel for when the class leader asks for a mana report. Usually if you have less mana than others, someone else can toss you a QM to help you out and vice versa.
