Raids - General

Post by Sonami »

Schedule

Raids begin Monday, Thursday and Sunday at 7:45 PM EST. This applies unless otherwise stated in the MoTD.

Guild Portal
Do not change guild portal in main guild hall during raids. Use the small guild hall if you need to teleport somewhere during raids.

Attendance

Those who are online and playing must attend and make their way to raids immediately when called or on-time when scheduled.

All members are responsible to ensure they are not locked out of ES raid activities.

Exceptions allowing for non attendance can be granted by officers when real life issues do not permit an individual to focus on raiding but would allow for solo exping or tradeskilling.

In addition, on an exception basis, officers may also grant permission to raid with others during raid time or cause potential lock outs by raiding off raid time to obtain flags, keys or attend to other activities that support ES progression and its members.

Forming/Joining Groups

The raid leader (technically the raid window manager) will be announced in guild MoTD at the beginning of a raid. Members can send /tells requesting invites from the raid leader or from a group leader but should only do so when they are not about to zone. Group leaders announce that they have room in /gu when the raid is forming to ease the burden on the raid leader. Those who arrive late request invites directly from the raid leader.

Gimps and alts are invited as directed by the "real" raid leader who takes into consideration who arrived first, and class needs for the raid. Full members are given preference over applicants and alts unless there is a class requirement.

Authority

It is a requirement that instructions provided by the raid leader be followed at all times during a raid. Strategies and suggestions can be discussed and made in /gu (within reason), however critisisms must be posted on ES boards.

Shrink

Everyone must shrink as much as possible without impairing their ability to perform and move.

Buffs

Request buffs using:

/tar {buffer name}
/tt {buff name} please

Target the buffer before asking to ensure you are in range. Buffers are not required to buff immediately prior to or during battles.

Assisting

MA calls for assist on all targets. Never attack before the call is made.

Going AFK

It is understood that everyone must go AFK. The best time to AFK is when loot is being distributed, when the raid leader informs that nothing will happen for a short period of time, or on familiar encounters where the timing of engagement and movement are well known.

It is less acceptable to AFK on new or difficult encounters.

It is not acceptable to AFK during key mobs or when the raid leader asks that no one AFK.

When you go AFK:

  • Announce it in guild.
  • Auto-follow a group member (tell them).
  • Put up the AFK tag.

Ask the raid leader directly if you need to be AFK for long periods of time (5 minutes or more).

Violations

Excessive rule violations during a raid will result in removal from the raid. Further rule violations will result in DKP penalties. Members who are removed from multiple raids or who incur multiple DKP penalties will be guild removed.

Serious rule violations will result in guild removal.

4- Chats:
Keep raid chat with only raid info. All the other chatting should go to tells, say or /gu. When Raidleader request to clear the channel, it has to be cleared immediately. Comments and suggestions will wait until briefing is over and should be done in tells. Once the fight starts, all conversations should cease so you can focus. If you are chatting during a fight you are obviously not contributing 100% to the fight...

8- Paying Attention:
If you attend a raid, full attention is required. That means, reduce chatting in tells/channels etc until there is a break time. EDIT: This includes 'banter' with other guilds in public channels as it is distracting and will typically extend well beyond any break time when your full attention is required.

9- Playing Alts on Raids:
It is perfectly fine if play an alternate character, but the alternate has to be at, or above, the current minimum raiding level established by the raid leader or guild leader. If your alt is below this level and you want to have it flagged for some raids, you may camp it out somewhere close to where the raid fights and log him on when mob is dead, again with Raid Leader approval.

All use of alt's during raids must be approved by the guild leader (or raid leader if the guild leader is not in attendance at a given raid). Once you have cleared it you must send a tell to whomever is performing DKP duties for that raid before the raid commences so they will know to give you dkp / teir credit. Do not /tell them during the raid for credit. They are trying to do their job and enjoy the raid the same as you and may not see your tell. Failure to clear it with ESO will result in you not getting dkp/teir for your main.
