laptop

Post by Whipsnade »

I might be getting a job in the next week and will have to travel.
I am thinking about buying a laptop thats able to play eq with no problems.
Any ideas on what kind to buy? I need to keep the cost down as much as possible.
After looking online it seems the video card is going to be the problem as far as a decent machine goes.
Are any of you playing on a laptop and how does it run on it.

I have an uber Dell XPS laptop which does well for me while traveling. I like the graphics card but my bard sometimes runs a little stop and start thru an open zone. I seriously considered Falcon-NW and Alienware but I chickened out and went traditional.

I am playing eq on an ABS Mayhem laptop. It has an AMD64 3200+ and an ATI 9700 mobile graphics card. Works fine on this platform. Quite heavy though as it is a desktop replacement laptop. Its already 2 years old but can still play very well on it. They have newer models now that you can check out. Website is www.abs.com . Runs hot also when you're playing for a long period of time.
