DKP

Items are pre-assigned a DKP value. Members may view the DKP value of all items by viewing the master loot list. For example:

Bloodied Skullcrusher 28 A
Ancient Hardened Vambraces 80 B
Earstud of Darkest Shadow 108 B

When an item drops and is awarded, every person in attendance on the raid receives the DKP value of the item divided by the number of people present at that raid entilted to earn DKP. For example, if an Earstuf of Darkest Shadow drops and there are 39 people present at the raid, each person receives 2.769 DKP (108/39). As additional items drop and are awarded, more DKP points are added to the total that is divided. For example, if both the Earstud and an Ancient Hardened Vambraces dropped, each person would receive 4.821 DKP (188/39). The individuals who receive the items in turn have their personal DKP balance reduced by the amount of the items they are awarded.

Note that ES applicants do not earn DKP although probationary members do. When raids are full because of a zonewide lockout or number restrictions, those who cannot attend earn. Individuals who are not flagged for a zone and cannot be willed into the zone who have not locked themself out also earn. In these two instances, it is necessary that those who cannot enter the raids be in locations designated by ES officers.

A record of each individuals DKP balance is posted after each raid day in the DKP status forum. For example:

Example1 (Tier B 42 - 35%): -14.775
Example2 (Tier A 88 - 76%): 121.677

The DKP balance is the last number shown in these examples. If credit for a raid should have been given but was not, the individual must post on that thread to have the DKP officer adjust. The results show on a subsequent post.

We operate on a zero sum DKP system. The balance is however not always zero because people retire/guildremove with positive and negative DKP balances. To keep this sum in check, 10% of the pre-assigned DKP value of items are deducted when awarded (as needed).

Tier

Tier is a representation of attendance and is broken down as follows:

Tier A - attended 60% - 100% of raid targets available on the last 20 raid days
Tier B - attended 30% - 59% of raid targets available on the last 20 raid days
Tier C - attended 1% - 29% of raid targets available on the last 20 raid days
Tier D - anyone below negative 15000 DKP, regardless of attendance percentage

Tier points are awarded for each raid target, however in some instances, a grouping of mobs will form one tier whereas in other instances an entire zone will pay a tier. Double tier is awarded for progression targets. DKP and tier are independent of one another so that tier is awarded even when DKP is not.

Note that ES applicants do not earn tier although probationary members do.

When a scheduled raid night is called off by the raid leader, those who are in the raid at the time it is called off will be rewarded with a tier point.

An individuals tier is calculated after each raid day and posted in the DKP status forum. For example:

Player1 (Tier B 45 - 40%): 24.775
Player2 (Tier A 98 - 87%): 131.677
Player3 (Tier C 12 - 11%): 80.126

The number that follows the individuals tier assignment represents the total number of tier that individual has earned in the last 20 raid days. The percentage is obtained by dividing the total number of tier earned over the last 20 raid days by the total number of tier that could have been earned over that same period of time. For example, if there were a total of 33 raids and an individual attended 16, that individual would be (Tier B 16 - 48%). The targets used for the last 20 raid days are noted in the DKP status forum. If credit for a raid should have been given but was not, the individual must post on that thread to have the DKP officer adjust. The results show on a subsequent post.

Every item has a pre-assigned a tier value based on a subjective classification that makes the most rare and highly valued items tier A. Approximately 20% of items in a zone are reserved as tier A, 60% as tier B, and the remaining 20% tier C regardless how many great items drop in the zone. The tier of any given item can be viewed on the master loot list. For example:

Metallic Spark-Shawl 85 A
Ancient Scaled Coif 75 B
Staff of Screaming Souls 60 C

Tier restricts members with low attendance and a large DKP balances from outbidding members with high attendance and lower DKP balances. If no member in a tier that is equal or greater to the tier of an item bids on a given item, that item will be awared to the person with the highest DKP balance in the next lowest tier.

Loot Distribution

An announcement will be made in guild chat when an item drops that will be awarded. For example:

Quote:
/gu Coilsteam Mechanomantle -- 97 A

Full and probationary members eligible to earn dkp/tier for the target who are interested in an item and able to access the corpse without undue delay must send a direct tell to the individual distributing loot (this applies regardless of your DKP balance or Tier). If you indicate you will only take the item should it rot, you will only be awarded the item if no other bids are made. This does not however change the price should you win.

If there are no tells, the item them becomes rot and is available for applicants DKP free (based on ESO discretion), then to alternate characters for a flat rate (only if their looting will cause no delay to the raid) otherwise the item is looted and destroyed. The alt loot price for CoTF is currently 200 DKP.

Only one loot item per mob can be won by a member unless the other loot items happen to become rot loot and no applicant is awarded that item. Only one spell may be purchased per raid day unless it would otherwise rot.

Full members are given preference over probationary members regardless of tier or DKP balance.

Mains wishing to purchase loot for an alt must have a DKP balance greater than negative 8000.

Some items are preferred for certain classes. This means they will be awarded to someone in the class before they are awarded outside of that class. These items can be viewed on the master loot list. For example the Slick Oil-Ring of Protection being tank preferred.
