Wow, Sunnie! Those close-ups are absolutely amazing! I'm a terrible photographer, but I geek out over the gear. Mind if I ask what you used? Was that a telephoto lens, or do you have a camera adapter for a telescope?

Must have been at least an 800mm telephoto if it was a lens... probably more, right? Tack sharp, too, so must have been on a tripod?

Thanks, Cantus! Nath is the more technical one with our cameras, I just point, zoom, shoot and pray I get lucky, lol. The camera I used for these shots is a Canon powershot SX40 hs, we did have the camera set up on a tripod but normally I shoot without one and getting good shots that way is hard because I do not have the most steady hand. We also have a secondary Canon that Nath used with a EOS70D and a Nikon 7500D, 15MM lens and 5MM stock with camera (Canon). I also took the Orion and Venus picture with my phone because for whatever reason I was having a hard time zooming in with the camera and finding them with clarity, but my phone did ok in a pinch. My phone camera is better catching other things (flowers, people, close up objects) I can post some of those things here if anyone would like to see I just mostly share those things on Facebook.
