Looking to buy a 500gb SSD... anyone have a suggestions or experience with them and can help me out.

I had a Samsung 840 Pro 128 GB ( too small ) and the splurged on a 1TB EVO so I'd "never run out of space again".

So far it seems pretty responsive.

Size wise, you should be great, you can install a second cheaper regular drive if you need space for pictures, backups etc.

Speed, yes there are differences between brands and generations of SSDs, but splitting hairs compared to difference between a SSD and hard disc. If you are use to a conventional hard disc, any SSD will feel very fast.

Currently have three computers in my house, each with a SSD of 240 or 256GB and each have a second disc drive, works great.
