laptop hard drive hot?

Post by TEMPS »

is it common that the hard drive in my laptop needs to be warm/hot? I know the cooling fans work and have it on a cooling fan. just the one corner of it always seems warm. took cover plate off and it is where hd is.

Its not uncommon to have a hard drive get warm.

If its over 35 - 40 deg C then you might want to look at additional cooling ( hard to do ) or moving to a solid state drive which will make the machine seem more responsive.

SSDs also have no moving parts and generate very very very little heat.
