super speed issue

Post by Tatsamaru »

Now I have looked all around and tried a variety of different things.
I have done these 2 things
turned off turbo mode which allows me to OC to 5ghz so back down to stock 3.6
turned off hyperthreading

yet I still get super speed, where the game is unplayable and I move around at supersonic speed, i mean even a bard with max speed couldnt keep up with me.. its not just movement, its the graphics as a whole even at the loading screen my character twitches super fast

specs of PC are
I7 3820
12 gigs of Mushkin DDR3 1866 (PC 14900) ram
Crucial M4 128gig SSD *just the bootup drive*
Western digital WD velociraptor WD6000hlhx 600 gig 10k rpm drive
and teh XFX double D black edition radeon HD 7950 3 gig card.

turning off hyperthreading before had worked, but its no longer doing that.. so I am asking if anyone else has ever ran into this issue.. this is also a fresh install of EQ

No need to turn off hyper-threading - I run just fine with it turned on.

I've seen this before, but I forget the cause. I want to say it had something to do with multicore and eq startup stuff. I run through Innerspace where it puts each EQ session to an individual CPU thread. You can do the same thing with WinEQ2.0 I believe.

Have you tried running through one of those to have your CPU affinity set at launch time? WinEQ2.0 has a free version, give that a shot.

Ive had WinEQ back when EQWindows finally kicked the bucket.. before EQ had windowed mode LOL

I have tried, the only fix ive ever had work for me was turning hyperthreading off.

Tried Wineq with affinity on on Wineq and off, and got the same results.. Ive been having this issue which is why I havent been on.. I want to play, and I was playing for quite a bit while leveling my SK then I ran into this issue again

edit

I know there is something I have to turn off, I cannot remember, but it allows the processor to slow down the core when not in use, and speed jump it back up to max speed when something uses it, and EQ catches in between while its doing that and makes everything faster, Dunno if that makes sense, but I have turned that off as well and still get the issue
