Thanks for the help with my internet issues last night.. it turns out that I'm just an idiot and had tried to search for updates to my network adapter driver via the device manager, which, of course, told me it was up to date. When I thought it over and checked the Intel site this morning, it told me there was an update, which I installed and it seems to be running lots better now!
