Sorry about ditching on 2nd COB try. While we were waiting for the second go 'round, my screen froze and an annoying "bzzzzzzz" sound came from my Alienware M17xR3 that Sangwen gave me for my B-Day a year ago (so I can play EQ). Needless to say, I was a bit confuzzled esp when I unplugged it, hard reset it, and nothing. Stupid battery wouldn't eject either - WTH?
So while you were restarting, I went to the basement and finally got the battery out - the lock had jammed.
When it rebooted I got 4 beeps on the post (bad sign). I ran a check on Alienware's site- bad memory.
So, Alienware tech and I had a 15 min conversation and we pulled the RAM out to discover 4G of it is bad - will have new memory Weds. In the meantime, this thing is running like new ! Who knew ? Memory probably went bad ages ago :O

Man scary stuff when something like that happens. =/ Glad to hear its working though and probably will be running even better when you put in the new ram. Just for the future ASUS > Alienware
