Should I even bother with this?
laptop computer
OS - Windows 7
Processor - Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00 GHz
RAM 1.00 GB
32 bit OS
42 GB free of 74. something memory on the hard drive. I could free this up more.
Display Adapters shows "Mobel Intel (R) 965 Express Chipset Family"
I went and downloaded some link that says I now have DirectX, but I see no evidence of this on the computer.
I am thinking I don't have a graphics card?
Could I get one, and would it actually work?
Do I actually need to get one? I can live stick figures in a blurry crayola fun factory.
Will I run Everquest?

I think you would have issues running EQ, the weak point is the 1GB of RAM. It will just be sluggish and always disc caching. You have enough disk space, my instal of EQ takes less than 9 GB .
As far as the graphics card, it is built into the Intel chip set. It will play EQ, I do not know how well.

there have been some pretty impressive improvements inthe intel built in graphics sets lately though i dunno if thats one of them i never paid much attention to what i had seen about it. like aaea said the ram is going to mean youre looking at a power point presentation instead of an actual bideo game
it will run eq but you will need to turn down/off all the graphics for spells effects and such. 1 gig ram is weak maybe you can get them to upgrade the ram. make sure you have all the updated drivers.
start....run....
type dxdiag and hit enter, it will show you what version you have and etc for dx.

Find out what sort of memory slot it has and add another DIMM. They're dirt-cheap these days. For example, most recent laptops use DDR3 SODIMMs. They're $18 or so for 4GB or $11 for 2GB at present on NewEgg.
That intel 965 is really pathetic though. It was a low-end built-in graphics solution 5 years ago.
