Post by Eatmice23 »

In the past few months i been getting into ambient metal/rock aka post-rock. and i'd like to share some for those who would be interested in listening to some new genres. This sounds is absolutely amazing.
here are a few bands that are ambient metal/rock.

*Pelican
*Russian Circles
*Cloudkicker
*Shora

Some of the Pelican stuff sort of reminds me of Toni Iommi and Geezer Butler when they go on long extended jams. I liked all the stuff I have listened too. so far.

lol dude check these out too if you like posty rock/metal:

billions and billions
god is an astronaut
tristeza
52 commercial road
the album leaf
balmorhea
deep in thought
explosions in the sky
stubborn tiny lights vs clustering darkness forever, ok?
deep in thought
*shels
achilles.
animals as leaders
chimp spanner
ascent of everest
scale the summit
the american dollar
caspian
cougar
crime in choir
daturah
la fin du monde
lemon's chair
lis er stille
moving dawn orchestra
moving mountains
new century classics
rameses III
valley of the giants
we all inherit the moon
wires under tension
year of no light

most of these are post-rock/jazz/alternative/metal/drone/ambient/electronica or have styles tangentially related to bands in your original post. i am in no way responsible for your inability to find the work of some of these bands as a lot arent very well known and its difficult even to find youtube videos of some.

Stuff to me is all a blur in my old age. It all seems the same, but I do enjoy it.

Does anyone ever sing? It sounds a little incomplete. I keep waiting for lyrics or a kick-ass singer to come in. The music isn't complex enough to stand on it's own to me anyway.

Post rock to me doesnt always need lyrics, its almost like a symphony using rock as a genre.
