build me up buttercup
Looking for someone to build me a top notch PC, preferably something around $1,500. mainly for boxing and not needing to worry about lag and running explorer while 2-3 accts are up. Will pay for shipping and receiving ofcourse. Just let me know who wants to do it and we'll go from there.

i would buy local like Alsmack said. i have built 4 PCs for people out of state and they always seem to have a prlbme when they arrive last time during shippment one of the SATA cables came loose.
also shop around for monitors usually Newegg has good prices but not always i buy alot from them because of my corporate acount but at times i have to buy else where because its cheaper...
We build PCs for people all the time its really not very hard to build your own its knowing what to put in it thats the hardest part if you want some suggestions let me know.

That link from Beon looks decent, you can select whatever you want, but the upgrades on RAM etc. Don't seem to have the greatest prices.
What I recommend for an awesome system (I built another of these 2 weeks ago):
Asus P8P67 Evo MB.
Intel i7-2600K Sandybridge CPU with good aftermarket Fansink
16 GB DDR3 1800 Corsair RAM
GTX 570 GPU
HAF 922 Case
750W Antec or CoolerMaster PS.
OCZ SSD primary drive
Western Digital Green Data drive
24X DVDRW - any, Asus, liteon, pioneer etc.
I suggest you check the component prices on newegg.com or tigerdirect.com to make sure you're not getting shafted by your system builder. We're lucky to have Fry's and Central Computers around here so I can just go pick up the components at internet pricing. Since we're in CA, we have to pay sales tax from most internet sites now anyway.
These are trivial to overclock to 4.4-4.7GHz (just a couple of settings in the BIOS).
Make sure all of the fans are connected to the appropriate places on the motherboard, not the powersupply so they only speed up when needed. The system will be virtually silent almost all of the time.
Once you get it put together, let me know and I'll tell you how to configure EQ in the NV control panel for beautiful anti-aliasing and aniso textures. It makes EQ look vastly better.

I was expecting you to say that.Iane_Blaidd wrote:ewww ASUS!Noircogi wrote:Asus P8P67 Evo MB.
sorry had nothing but problems with every single thing i have ever bought from them!
just my 2cents worth
In general, they have the best support and availability of all the MB vendors though. I used to manage NVIDIA's PC chipset software team and I can assure you that Asus is head and shoulders above the other Tier1 vendors in technical and production capability. (I'm doing mobile stuff now. That Transformer Prime is pretty sweet too.)
I think you just got unlucky.

This is also where I bought my PC... have had no problems whatsoever.beornj wrote:http://www.ibuypower.com/

I remember when you bought this - your sata cable came loose in shipping and you called them and they walked you through hooking it up~Ylyrra wrote:This is also where I bought my PC... have had no problems whatsoever.beornj wrote:http://www.ibuypower.com/

I'm inclined to agree here. I've built many, many PCs and have had poor luck with Biostar, ASRock, and MSI due to serious deficiencies in their driver support and website coherency for NA customers. I just bought a 23" ASUS 1080p monitor I've been saving for for only US$160 and there is not one dead pixel in it. I run a M4A79XTD EVO and all I have to do is go to 16GB of DDR3, a six core CPU, and a new pair of 7 series Radeons and it will be totally maxed out. It has everything I'll ever need except USB 3.0 and I have no need for that anytime soon. It's been running for almost two years and I haven't had a hint of a problem. The other three ASUS based PCs I've built lately have worked very well for my customers. Highly recommended!Noircogi wrote:I think you just got unlucky.
