Exp. Sharing for fellowships?? A patch on test

Post by Opus »

*** Fellowship Experience Sharing ***
- Ever had a friend or friends that fell behind the rest of your group because they could not play as much as the rest of you? Now you can invite them to your fellowship and enable experience sharing. This allows your combat experience to be shared with them even if they are offline!
- The new system requires fellowship members to-opt in from the fellowship window using the new toggle XP button. There is also a new column in the list that displays the XP sharing status of all members. The fellowship leader can toggle XP sharing for anyone, or each member can toggle their own.
- If you have fellowship XP sharing enabled, you both share and receive combat experience with other fellowship members that also have it enabled.

*** UI ***
- Fixed some issues with the new default UI layouts that caused some windows (hot buttons, the window selector) to pop up even if you weren't creating a new character.
- Disabled "right click to inspect" by default for new characters.
- Minor marketplace improvements.
- Attached SC button to the EQ button.

*** Changed Files ***

- EQUI_Animations.xml
- EQUI_EQMainWnd.xml
- EQUI_FellowshipWnd.xml
- EQUI_MarketplaceWnd.xml
- EQUI_ObjectPreviewWnd.xml

Succuba - no.

The entire purpose of this is so if you have friends with different playtimes, you don't outlevel each other for when you can play together.

Say I dual boxed a monk shaman, and a buddy played a warrior / cleric / wizard or something. We could be in the same fellowship, and play together on the weekends, but since he's a jobless bum and played all day during the week, he would normally out level me. With this system, I can opt in and when he levels, he's not penalized at all on exp, but I get exp as if I were a member in his group as well.

It's really quite a neat idea. There's some room for abuse, but overall, it's making it easier for people with disparate schedules to stick together - something the game did desperately need a way to compensate for.

Vanguard had/has this feature .. My char was helped when I didn't expect it to be .. but it made it nice for when the people in the fellowship wanted to play together.. I don't know if the feature is still in play in the game .. which is rather limping along still with little help from Sony .. I go there a few times a month to visit my house and ride around in one of my boats and maybe collect some timbers from lumberjacking .. All things I enjoyed there.. :)

Works for both XP and AA. Will use the receiver's percentage aa set at logoff to distribute accordingly.

Obviously you need to die more, then you can get the full rezes and still need to xp.

No need to do that Rice. So long as you are getting xp, so will the other person. I'm not max so I can't test that it's not a bug or something. You being capped shouldn't matter to the receiver.
