working the bugs out part 2
Ok I got my pc back and it seems to be running fairly well now. I got a new powersource and can now log into eq without any issues. I finally got my ui restored, so I'm almost ready to go.
I am having an issue staying connected to the internet now.
I typically run the following simultaneously:
1. EQ (windowed mode)
2. Pandora desktop application
3. Firefox with 3-4 tabs
4. Teamspeak 2
I ran this on my old machine without an issue, and it seems like I can run it here....but....
when I tried to add a download SC 2 ot the above, I lose internet on this machine, and I have to reboot to get it back. I don't slow down, I totally lose it. The odd thing is that my old PC on the same network stays online. So it is just this pc, and only when I use a good deal of bandwith.
Any ideas? (I hope the above made sense, if not I can try to reexplain)

that kinda sound like a download quota software issue.
I'm inclined to check the following.
computer - device manager - check to see if it's dumping internet if quota is maxed.
ethernet card might go bad if it can't handle load
router if it's dumping you.
ISP.
Some ISP will shut down a line if you exceed bandwidth. It's a way to deter streamers.

Motherboard had a LAN driver which I downloaded, hopefully that will fix it. I have Firefox running and I am downloading two games (Battlefield 2 and SC 2). Seems ok now, Worst case scenario is I don't dl any large files while playing eq!

not sure why you would want to download whole games while playing EQ lol

and for part 3: I run battlefield......looks amazing!
2 minutes in I get a warning "your CPU is running at 87 degrees Celsius."
So now i have to send it back yet again to get a new cpu fan and another case fan. So far my $1800 computer has cost me almost $2100, and it is still not running correctly.

Why not? Its like a 3 + hr download, mind as well get ahead on it a little bit!

let it download overnight or something lol
also that sucks, but a good cpu fan is one of the most important things
especially if it's overclocked at all
it could also be that they used the wrong amount of thermal compound

so the local best buy had a liquid cooling kit for cpu, but of course the 1156 kit didn't quite fit the 1155 spot, so The correct piece needs to be ordered, so I'm back on old pc for another week, and down another $90 ish bucks for this new box, bleh.

i have never had an issue with anything onboard but video; the onboard just doesn't cut it for gamers. my BF uses the onboard video on his motherboard and he says it works just fine for what he needs.
sounds like some really subpar quality parts were usded. i have built about 200 PCs over the years for friends and businesses and i have never had any big issues (besides 1 but that was not my fault) with any of them. i even build a server for a new business last year and the budget was $600 and last i heard it works great.

No one at best buy built it. I was just hoping to get a part locally so I wouldnt have to order it and wait even longer. No onboard video either, I have a gtx 570. Also got an i5 2600 pentium and an asus p8p something or other mb. I even went premium on ram complete with heat shielding. just bad luck for me I guess. Should have it next week at some point. Wonder what the next issue will be lol... At least I have my old one still running.

Which fansink are you using Diss? This is what I have on my i7-2600K and it works great: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
Do you have the fansink connected to the "CPU" fan connector on the motherboard?
Do you have the fanspeed properly configured in the BIOS?

I ordered this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835181013
They had the H50 locally but the brackets wouldn't fit correctly. This one specifies LGA 1155 so it should be ok. I hope.
