I would goto a 900 watt + PS for that set up you can never have enough power to run everything.

Also I heard that the new raptor drives are not as good as the old ones, hell get a 128 or 256 SSD drive since you will have a 1tb back up

MB has 6 slots so this will fill them up, but it's upgradeable to 24GB if I want to swap out the 2GB for 4GB later on.

I'm not sold on the SSD's yet considering their price vs. projected reliability. If I had been given the time to read more about them, I might have gone with one, but since this need was rushed upon me, I need a system now. In a couple of years, I'll probably go with a higher end machine (dream machine) and use this one as a secondary and if the SSD's hold up to their promise, I'll add it to that one.

Looks like an excellent system Ylyrra. Should be overkill for EQ. :)

I agree with the upgraded power supply suggestion. This system will definitly be overkill for EQ. No reason to go more than 12 gig memory, doubt you will ever need more than that. Now you have to shop it. I know I got a real good price from ibuypower.com, not sure if you checked there but I like their systems. Also, I use 2 10,000 rpm terabyte drives and it is plenty fast. No real reason to shell out the additional money for the velociraptor.

Very nice set up. Reading this makes me want to build another machine.

The water cooled system is a very nice touch but with the case you are getting really isn't needed. I am using that same case and with the number and size of the fans along with the design of the case you should have no issues with cooling. I have mine fully loaded and even with multiple accounts running on full settings have never had any issues with heat. It actually runs cooler than any other set up I have had. Whisper quiet too.

Noir has that case for his newest system also and I have to agree with the gnome. Very quiet and cool without liquid cooling.

Thanks all for your advice and input. Purchase made from ibuypower (thanks Beo... was looking at them and cyberpowerpc).

Changes to the above:
Upgraded the chip - there was a $200 rebate on the 960 which made it the same price in the end (once I mail in the rebate)
Upgraded the power supply to 1000W - 900W was not available.. highest before 1000W was 875, decided to go on the high side of your recommendation.
Scrapped the liquid cooling.

They will ship it in about 5-10 business days.. then it will take about the same amount of time to ship to me. Just as well since I will be at our North GA branches next week for some training as they prepare to go live on the new systems we implemented in the west division (where I work) last month.

Also found out we have due diligence going on now at another bank. This is where we send employees to an unknown bank that is about to fail (unknown for obvious reasons) and review their loan documentation to see if it is a bank we are interested in acquiring. If that pans out, we will have some additional branches, likely before the end of the year.
