Windows Movie Maker

Post by EggbornHatchedrotten »

I have it on my work laptop, but would love to have it on my computer. I have windows XP and I keep finding links to a site that says download updates. I have tried them all, and no windows movie maker yet! Anyone have any ideas? Microsoft wants $60.00 to talk with me.

Do you have SP2 installed for XP? It seems to be part of that.

I went and downloaded all that had to do with it. I am running SP3 atm though. Nothing popped up. I also did a search on my computer for it, in case I missed it.

I now have all kinds of dumb things that I will never use, but no movie maker.

It says I have all of the programs, but Movie maker isn't on the list. Then it asks me to sign up for windows live. When I click on the sign up link, nothing happens. Eventually I close the window. I got a ton of more new programs that I will never use, but windows movie maker wasn't included. I am going to be uninstalling a ton, now that I am down to 13.3 GB on my hard drive.

next?

if you go to windows update you should be able to download movie maker, that's how I always did it.
it will be a optional download or whatever.

That is the vista version of movie maker, which runs on windows 7 ( what I use now.) Probably won't run on XP tho.

I have windows XP. When I go to links to download the movie maker it takes me to service pack 2. I try again, and it doesn't download the program. Oh man, that windows live took forever to uninstall bleck! Wish it had included the movie maker! I just read a note that it isn't available for windows XP. That must be why I can't get it. It must be a vista thing, but I swear my laptop for work had it last year before we switched to vista.

you can definately get movie maker for xp, I used to use it for school stuff.

"Movie Maker 2.1 is available for download with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

You can download SP2 and all future critical updates automatically by turning on the Automatic Updates feature in Windows XP.

You can also download SP2 and Movie Maker 2.1 from Microsoft Update.

Updated: August 25, 2004"
