In an effort to improve my windows experience, i installed windows 7 yesterday afternoon. After 6 hours of downloading EQ, 3 bluescreens and a couple DX errors, it looks like i may have start from scratch again. If its stable when i get home tonight, i will try to play. If i am not on, then more than likely i will be reinstalling wishing i was running a Mac.

:( And thus be the reason, though I hate Vista .. I stick with it, has at least been stable on my laptop

I wish you luck.

I've had zero major issues with Windows 7.

As long as you grab the directx 9c runtime from microsoft, and make sure you have appropriate video drivers for your video card, EQ has been running fine for me.

You may have to delete eqhardware.txt from your eq directory.

Thanks, went home at lunch time and it seems stable now, was able to run 2 instances with full effects lot better than with the effects turned down on Vista.
