Ok so I read the details on this and it says theres expansion for Component Video input. Is that some extra part I have to buy? Is this even the right piece of equipment to do what I want to do?
Still trying to figure out how to capture gameplay from my PSP to my PC so I can post it on Youtube or something.

Some of you might know the PSP 2k/3k obviously has Video out now. With the composites (yellow) you can watch the movies and stuff on your TV but I guess you need the components(green, blue, red) in order to see games because of the Progressive scan?

For some reason I cant navigate my way around google to find what I need. Fry's had almost nothing for video capture utilities for PC.

All I got when I was fishing around for info in the Capcom forum was trying to use mod software and remotejoy on the psp but the idea was for me to not have to mod the PSP.

According to the tech specs on the horrible dell site, it says it has composite and component inputs. It's usually handled with a breakout box on these PCI cards, that usually come with the card. Dells website doesn't have much in the way of specifics.

If you don't want a TV tuner on your card, you can get just composite:

Diamond used to make good products, but I haven't used them for a while. Hauppage is a respected brand in TV Tuner cards.

The Video out for Psp while running games is Component only.

Does this look like the right piece of equipment? Would I be able to see what I am doing on the Psp on the PC screen?

Psp turns it's screen off when the video out is turned on.

I think I found just the thing. Looks affordable too, compared to the cards that cost a few G's.

Blackmagic Themselves dont seem to sell it directly but they had numerous sites listed as resellers and this was one that had the item carried on their site.
