keyboard help

Couple weeks back my keyboard died during our last performer win. Went out and bought a new one, decided to get wireless. Its a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A

Somehow, the esc key and the c key are "bound together"

Escape seems ok, it does all the stuff I normally do with esc.

But the c key is messing me up....it is also acting as an escape. So when I con a mob for instance, I get the con message, but then lose the target (just as if I pushed escape)

When I go to baz, I want to search for "branch" so i type in bran fine, then when i get the c, it closes the baz window. When i /baz again, I have branc in the window, so just have to type the h.

The c works fine in all chat windows.

Problems don't end with eq.

If i wanted to type www.randomwebaddress.com into my browser, i would get the www.randomwebaddress. into the browser, then when I hit the c the entire url disappears and I end up searching for "om"

To get to any website not in my history, i have to type the name into a seach engine and link form there.

Any ideas how to fix this?

I dod not customize the keyboard setup at all. I have tried restoring defaults and changing batteries, but its still bugged.

You had the same problem with a different keyboard?

Sounds like there is a hardware issue with possibly a short in the keyboard (if this is the only keyboard this is happening to). Or more likely than not, some application you have installed recently has altered your key mappings. Something has gone and assigned the C key to the ESC key codes.

Does this happen for both UPPER and lower case C?

I encountered this problem once at work.

Just call microsoft help desk. They will issue you a replacement free of charge. It's just a defect (a known one).

wireless KB's are not the kind u want for gamming the latency in them are not nearly as fast as wired KB's

id Recomend this KB for anyoen tat plays EQ or games or listens to Music

but for any ES member id Ship it out for $80 including tax and shiping

as for wireless... try keeping the recever closer to the KB. add a USB cabled extention cable to bring the USB dongle (if aplicable) up on the desk in a clear unustructed area... also press the buttons to reset the frequency on the mouce / KB and the bace unit dongle

unload any software that came with the KB or mouse. and get new Drivers online from the manufacture

my advice is... wireless sucks
and the G-15, although pricy, is totally beyond amazing. even if you don't use its often widely rediculous features, it is still completely wonderful.

There are 2 type of peopl those that have experienced the G15 and those who havn't. Well those who haven't suck so get with the program, even grumpy Ol' kaput has one.

i have a g15 that just went out...i cannot use the 1,q,a,z keys anymore...no idea what happened
