New Wireless Router Issues

Post by Chakkorisi »

Okay . . . so I went wireless over the weekend. I set up my new router and wireless cards without a hitch.

I HAVE Internet connectivity, so I know I am getting out to the rest of the universe.

I AM able to run the patcher. The patcher connects, does it's thing and then the opening EULA screen SHOULD come up . . .

. . . what happens instead, is it flickers for a second and then EQ just closes. No errors . . . no messages . . . no pop-ups. The EULA screen never comes up . . . it flashes for a second as though to try, but never comes up.

I've been reading about certain ports that need to be open on the router . . . anyone have any experience with this? I guess I am asking if I am barking up the right tree or not, or if the problem might lay elsewhere?

I wish I remembered what I had to open before. The knowledge base might not give you them all. A customer service rep from EQ told me that even more needed to be open, and that solved my problem in the past. What they had in the knowledgebase wasn't enough.

according to the eq forums these are the ports you need

Everquest must have all UDP ports >1023 open. So that would be 1023-65535
