For my own personal overclock i just got an e4300(1.8ghz) core2duo and just increased the FSB to 315(2.835ghz) using ddr2-667 memory running at 1:1 ratio with 4-4-4-12 timings at stock voltage on everything but memory, with stock intel cooler. PSU was a Tier 3 450watt psu and everything seems to run well with good temperatures.
