I am currently planning on getting a new monitor and am gonna go with a LCD, but have hit a bump in the road as far as determining what to get. The main thing that concerns me about my decision is the native resolutions of LCDs and the fact that the 16:9 and 16:10 "Widscreen" monitors have non-standard resolutions that i do not think EQ supports. Does anyone use a widescreen monitor? and if so how does the picture look stretched or cropped?
As of right now i am looking to either get a 19" with 1280x1024 or a 20.1 with 1600x1200 since they are the standard 4:3 ratio and are supported by EQ. I don't watch movies on computer nor do i really play any other computer games seriously, I am mainly looking for a monitor to mostly play EQ. I want to have as many options open to me(maybe even a 22") but don't wanna get a widescreen if it doesn't work well in EQ.

I just got this one and it's great for EQ. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824001087
This is my 1st widescreen and I wouldn't go back to a 4:3.
The native resolution on my monitor is 1680 x 1050 and it's a nice size as far as being able to read the text and play eq.

My 3 EQ systems are all widescreen. Two are running 1920x1200 and one is 1680x1050. It's odd that in the PC world they use 16:10 instead of 16:9.
The only real issue with EQ is that it doesn't allow you to adjust the field of view (probably because there are spells which do that). I Tend to run my graphics on the top and chat-windows and menus at the bottom of the screen. I then use something like:
/viewport 0 0 1920 800
To improve performance and make the windows more readable.
I do end up with a sort of "zoomed-in" look this way.
The 1920x1200 monitors are the Dell 24" (2405w).
The 1680x1050 monitor is a Samsung 22" (225B).
I'd recommend either. The Samsung is about half as expensive as the Dell.
