Hey Guys I finally found the ES website after several PC changes and lost info. Actually I havent tried very hard

Anyways just stoppin in to say Hi to those of you that remember me and a big /wave to those that dont.

Be forewarned tho I've had the hankerin to reload EQ and see how things are so if you see me pop up in game you have been warned

Hmmn maybe I'll dust off the discs ans see if I have them all.

Hey Guys! Of course I member ya Okna and Spaz and kazh. I have reloaded EQ but of course I'm having problems getting the game to even start I get that Nasty "EQgame.exe has encountered an error and must close" error. I'm scouring the Tech Boards looking for a solution so it will be a few more days by the sounds of it.
I guess the newest patch Nerfed alot of machines and peoples arent so happy but hey thats what SOE was always so famous for.

What you need to do is go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en because you have to have the latest version of directx before EQ will run.. download/install this and it should all be kosher..

if that doesn't work, let us know and i'm sure someone will be able to figure it out.

If you want to start from stratch. I say go to EQ website and download the patcher. it'll patch everything you need to your drive. It may take a while depending on your connection so I recommend doing this before you go off to work or eat out with someone, etc.

Ok I posted in the tech section ans someone suggested I change eqclient.ini file.

The bummer part is I'm not finding the ini file. The closest file i'm finding is below

[Defaults]
Sound=TRUE
TextureQuality=1
VertexShaders=TRUE
20PixelShaders=TRUE
14PixelShaders=TRUE
1xPixelShaders=TRUE
MultiPassLighting=FALSE
UseLitBatches=TRUE

The file name is just eqclient with no .ini in the file name.

Also Fazin I tried downloading the patcher you suggested and it made no change.

Also I am running Directx 9.0c and have updated my Vid card drivers.
