hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that my band made it into the second round of the bodog battle of the bands!! we get to play a major show in Houston later this summer =) we need to get as many votes as possible though to continue in the competition, and the winner gets a million dollar recording contract! please check us out and vote for us if you like what you hear, or even if ya dont its all good lol, thanks everyone!!!

Man, I'm thouroughly embarrased by every single band from Nebraska on that site. For how much of a hotbed for underground forward-looking artists and thinking-outside-the-box musicians Omaha was from 2000-2004 I can't believe there's nothing worth listening to on there. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the days of Cursive, The Faint and Bright Eyes being recognized names for once. Listening to most of these bands makes me also wish I would have got together with my friends and put some tracks down like I was considering doing. Though I'm sure Progressive-Funk/Rock wouldn't get much love there maybe there would be someone who would root for us.

Voted for your band and moved you guys from 21 to 20 in the Houston rankings. (:V)

hahah you guys are so awesome you dont know how much i appreciate this =P and yeah i definately agree with you taunto =P we moved up to 19th now and under 450 overall!! i cant wait to hear the show date, they are just keeping us in suspense lol.

just a little update, we put our music up on download.com so for those of you without myspace you can check out two of our songs on there, just go to music and search for acanthus. it keeps track of the number of downloads and plays and whatnot, and for only having it up there a week or so and not telling anyone, its doing fairly well lol. also, still no word on the show date in houston.
we are playing a show tomorrow night, if anyone wants to watch a live video feed and hear some more of our songs check it out at www.ziahole.com show starts around 8pm our time (mountain i believe) thanks guys =)
