DVI

Post by Ailerdar »

So I got my very first ever LCD monitor today (yay), but I'm having to use analog input atm because I can't get DVI to work. Are there any special tricks to it? I'm a newb to video stuff... but it seems pretty simple... it just won't recognize the input.

It seems to default to analog, and there's an OSD option to change to digital, but it just flickers and then sets back to analog. (You can only get to the OSD when there's a connection, so I have to connect it using analog to get to that setting anyway). I know this isn't a very complete description of the problem, but I can't think of what else to try/say.

Also make sure the DVI is connected when your PC is powered on.

Some combination of reconnecting the plugs and rebooting a few times fixed it. Thanks for the suggestions though. I swear I had everything connected before booting up the computer the first time I tried it... but whatever, it works now.
