Re: teamspeak push to talk

If you run EQ as an administrator, your voice chat software won't be able to detect keystrokes for push to talk if it's not also running as administrator.

Is push to talk always failing, or only failing when EQ is in focus?

Re: 4 awesome Caster tips

Fairly certain several of these are Project 99 specific, and do not work on live.

Re: EQ Graphics update coming

Here's a direct link to Daybreak rather than a third party: https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/directx-11-api-port-is-on-test-server.292584/ Short of it is they are upgrading to DirectX 11, and it shouldn't be a big deal for anyone not playing on a toaster that's very old. DX11 is...

Re: THIS is the BEST Everquest Expansion

This dude though, he said that the velious reboot was the first expansion where the game moved into missions/quests progression and requiring groups for progression. This happened well before then with partisan and mercenary missions and the regular group mission at the end of the solo series. Hell ...

We've upgraded the forums and are working to solve most of the problems caused by the upgrade.

Going to unsticky this post as it's solved now.

Kinda neat. Seems in 2022 Bertox was chugging along with ~1400 unique logins a day, low to mid population compared to other servers, almost half of active TLPs.

Someone should do the math to estimate revenue from these numbers, that would be interesting to me. Maybe if I get bored at work tomorrow ;)

I would be tempted to by a used machine while there, then sell it before I left. PC Gaming isn't actually super popular in Japan. The used market is pretty bad here. It was my first thought as well. Pelican cases are your best bet, BUT, your CPU cooler and GPU can put a lot of stress on the boards....

SFF Gaming

I'm looking at probably being in Japan for another 1-2 years, which was not originally intended. With that I've decided to get a desktop build prepped. The downside here is a few fold: 1. Moving a desktop via normal airlines is generally impractical 2. Shipping is slow and/or hyper expensive 3. Part...

I bought my wife the new Asus Zephyrus G14, top spec model was right around $1500 bucks. It is a beast. And six boxes no problem too, using the integrated graphics, even before you enable the dedicated 2060 in it. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-16gb-m...

I worked at a MicroCenter in the service department for a year or so some 20ish years ago; the Powerspecs always held up pretty well. They didn't use high end components, but they were always pretty budget conscious and I didn't see too many in for repairs. Hopefully that one works out well for you.

I've custom built hundreds of machines in the last 25 years. Most of them 10-20 years ago. I used to do up to 5 a month as a side business during high school and for a few years after, not to mention working IT at the time too. Building yourself used to be a great way to beat the price to performanc...

While as a piece of music, I like this, I heard it so much it was one of the primary reasons I turned off the sound engine in EQ around 19 years ago lol.

For a simple anecdotal answer: I use a Logitech G602 wireless "gaming" mouse, even for first person shooters. I've had zero problems with input lag. Runs on AA batteries that last for months with many hours of use a day. Cantus' novel is accurate, but in the end input devices come down to ...
